Work at home opportunities

Home > Business Opportunity

If you're interested in building a small business, working from home, and establishing your financial security, you've probably investigated offers on dozens of websites. You may not be able to determine what opportunities are good and which should be avoided. If you have a website where you've posted your email address, like I have, you're probably inundated with hundreds of barely decipherable spam email messages every week. I know I am.

Do not spam!

I despise spam and I will never do anything to support it or the people who indulge in such annoying and time-wasting tactics. They don't work and people will start to hate you if you indulge in any marketing technique that annoys them. Don't get caught in the trap of buying a CD and sending out your message to thousands of people. There's nothing worse than creating a terrible impression when you don't know any better. You'll damage your reputation, probably lose your Internet access, and may dig yourself into a hole that you can't escape, easily.

You only get one chance to make a first impression. Don't waste your best chance to show yourself to be intelligent, helpful, and knowledgeable.

If you aren't any of these things, you won't succeed in building a home business, anyway, so you would probably do better to keep your job or concentrate on getting a better job.

Even though you get all the messages that show the grimy underbelly of business opportunities, there truly are legitimate ways to earn a living while working in the comfort of your home, while helping -- not annoying -- your potential customers.

Free work at home opportunities

With the right opportunity, a good plan, a good product, persistent effort, and enough sales calls, you can prosper. Nobody will do it for you, however.

If you want to get rich overnight with no effort using the latest gimmick, you might as well leave this site, because you won't find it here.

If you want to build your home business, you're welcome here and invited to participate with us.

I have tested, and am a satisfied customer, of the following dealerships, services, and affiliate programs. I recommend them to you.

There are no guarantees for success

Anyone who is telling you they can guarantee your success or promise any particular level of income is lying to you. Not only that, they're breaking the law. There are no guarantees for success in any business opportunity. There are too many variables and people are too different. If you sit on the couch, watch TV, and don't market your business, you won't earn anything. If you develop a plan, work with your sales team, and sell products, you'll earn something in proportion to your sales. No sales, no profit.

Before you investigate or take part in any of these opportunities, please read the Caveats section of my Privacy page. The Federal Trade Commission also has a good section on their website to help you learn about business opportunities, and to avoid the scams and schemes that are so prevalent. I'm a satisfied customer of the companies I recommend and I've investigated them as well as I know how. You should perform your own due diligence before becoming involved in any business relationship.

I'll be adding information you may find useful on my 21st Century Affiliate Marketing blog.

Work from home

You have the option of working from the comfort of your own home or opening an office. It's your choice. It's your business to manage. Nobody will tell you how to run your business, but it is wise to listen to those who are already making money.

Perhaps its not an option for you, however. Perhaps you are a work at home Mom (WAHM) or Dad (WAHD). There are so many that there are acronyms to describe you more easily. You may be a caretaker for a relative and may not be able to leave home, easily. For over six years, I was a full-time caretaker for my Mom, who died at 87 years old, and working at home allowed me to take care of her full-time so she could live at home, where she had lived for 30 years, instead of having to go to a nursing home.

So, I get all the neat benefits from working at home -- no commuting, no having to ask or beg for a day off when I want or need it -- all the while my websites are helping me earn an income by representing quality affiliate programs.

Always be ethical and honest

The opportunities here are good enough that there's never a reason to be unethical or dishonest. You don't have to cheat anyone to earn an income. In fact, by helping others, you'll help yourself.

If you are dedicated to being honest, open, and ethical, then you may be a good choice for our team. If you don't want to dedicate yourself to helping others and doing your very best, perhaps you should leave now and find something else to do.

What companies do I recommend?

Over the years, I've recommended several companies, but these days, the only affiliate marketing program I highly recommend is SiteSell. The others I recommended in the past are still good companies, but they just don't compare to the SiteSell 5 Pillar Affiliate Program and the Site Build It! system they created.

SiteSell

I learned about Ken Evoy and his SiteSell products in mid-2001. When I read about his Make Your Site Sell! ebook, I immediately purchased it. Later, I purchased an upgrade in 2002. This has been my very best investment in building my business on the Internet. The book was reasonably priced, comprehensive, and I've earned back much more than I paid for the book. When I saw the quality of the product, I joined his 5 Pillar Club affiliate program, and I urge you to join it, too.

Much of the company's efforts are going to enhance their Site Build It! webhosting service, that is unlike anything else that's available. If I were brand new to web marketing, I'd not bother to learn all that I've learned over the years involving unix, cgi, html, and all the rest of the technical aspects of building a website. I'd save hundreds of dollars and untold hours and go with Site Build It! (It's a great product with a clumsy name.)

I currently have two websites powered by Site Build It! and have plans for a couple more when I find the time: Act On Your Dream! and Murphy Gold.

Learn more about Sitesell and join their affiliate program, if it looks interesting to you.

Affiliate Programs

I'll be maintaining information about other affiliate programs as well as links to sites that offer balanced perspectives about the possibilities of building a business by promoting affiliate programs on your website on my 21st Century Affiliate Marketing blog.
